Please be aware that the event is expected to attract a large volume of traffic on the road network and via public transport so you will have to increase the journey times.

 

ALLOW AT LEAST AN EXTRA 2 HOURS OF TRAVEL TIME TO AND FROM BRAY!

 

We would like to stress that all spectators please plan their journey in advance, remain alert and arrive early for a stress-free journey to Bray. Before and after the event there will be delays which are inevitable so please be patient. 

 

REGARDLESS OF YOUR MODE OF TRANSPORT, OUR ADVICE IS TO ARRIVE PRIOR TO 2 PM.

Yes, it is a free family-friendly air display.

After careful consideration, we have decided not to offer a ticketed grandstand at the Bray Air Display this year.

We understand this change might disappoint some loyal attendees who enjoyed the grandstand experience.

We can gather valuable feedback from our audience, and we will carefully evaluate the success of this year’s approach. This will inform our planning and decision-making for future events.

Our main goal with the Bray Air Display is to inspire the next generation of aviation enthusiasts. We hope to ignite a passion for aviation among young attendees and encourage them to consider pursuing careers in one of Ireland’s leading industries.

The #BrayAirDisplay takes off on Saturday, August 3rd only with ground entertainment from noon with the spectacular #BrayAirDisplay kicking off at 3 pm.. These are approximate times and are subject to change.

The air display schedule or aircraft timings are not released in advance as they are subject to change. Please see our ‘In the Air‘ & ‘On the Ground‘ sections on this website for our full lineup and event activities.

There are a number of reasons an aircraft may have to cancel its appearance at the Bray Air Display which is outside the control of the Event Organiser.

Yes, you can download the Official 2024 Souvenir Programme here. The Programme will not be printed.

No, there is no official practice day prior to the airshow. Some aircraft activity may happen throughout the week leading up to Saturday, August 3rd and where possible we will share this information in advance via our social media) but this is not guaranteed.

If you have an air-band radio you can hear the pilots & ATC on 119.60 MHz.

Yes, there is a dedicated page for local residents regarding road closures and traffic restrictions for the event.

We wanted to make sure our local residents have as much information as possible about the forthcoming #BrayAirDisplay.

Bray has a substantial public transport network, both north from Dublin and south from County Wicklow and County Wexford. See ‘Getting Here‘ section for more information. Regardless of your mode of transport, our advice is to arrive prior to 2 pm.

PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PARK ILLEGALLY – IN LOCAL ESTATES OR OUTSIDE LOCAL RESIDENCES. PARKING ENFORCEMENT RULES WILL BE IN OPERATION AND YOUR VEHICLE WILL BE CLAMPED OR TOWED.

YOU ARE NOT PERMITTED TO LEAVE YOUR CAR PARKED OVERNIGHT. CARS WILL BE TOWED.

Yes, there is parking available at designated car parks.

Coach parking is at South Event Car Park. The coach driver/rep will be given directions to a drop-off point for the coach party on arrival.

Please ensure you have your QR ticket code on your smartphone as this is a requirement for check-in at our official car parks. This procedure helps us on our paperless journey.

There is ample bike parking available on Bray seafront: https://maps.app.goo.gl/2NxQK3Xuxshngg2p8?g_st=ic. Please be advised that all cycle paths along Strand Road are closed throughout the weekend to facilitate the influx of pedestrians. Road users, including cyclists, are asked to be vigilant and mindful of their surroundings. Bikes are prohibited on any of Irish Rail‘s services on Saturday, August 3rd 2024.

Yes, you can dine alfresco at our Food Village, treat yourself and the family to a meal at one of the many restaurants throughout the town or simply bring your own picnic.

The use of remote control devices and unmanned aircraft systems including drones are NOT permitted at the Bray Air Display.

There is a Temporary Restricted Airspace notice in place to protect Bray Air Display participants and spectators, as well as traffic in and out of Dublin, Weston and Baldonnel Aerodrome/airports, for the duration of the event (Saturday, August 3rd 2024). Only approved aircraft will be permitted to operate within the TRA for the duration of the event.

During the #BrayAirDisplay weekend, flying drones, kites, or balloons in Bray is strictly prohibited.

Spectator boats are welcome at the Bray Air Display but there will be marker buoys highlighting a “no boat zone”. Vessels should not approach or enter this area as this is the event display line.
Our advice is to come prepared with enough anchor chain as our flight display line may change.
Safety is paramount so please follow instructions when asked to do so.
Unfortunately, BBQs are strictly prohibited and can not be used at the Bray Air Display. If you breach this rule you may be asked to leave the event.
Due to safety concerns for all spectators, personal tents or awnings are not allowed throughout the event site. Personal hand-held or beach umbrellas are allowed.
Spectators can bring their own seating, blanket or cushion.

Unfortunately, there are no campsites in Bray. Please note: Sleeping is not permitted in any vehicles in the car parks. We do not permit camping, camper vans or caravans on site.

Yes, there are First aid facilities at the Bray Air Display and are manned by trained Order of Malta personnel.

There are a number public toilets along the seafront with additional temporary toilet facilities being provided over the weekend around the bandstand area.
There are 2 ATMs located close to or on Bray Seafront.

The Bray Air Display has always been committed to sustainability and reducing its carbon footprint. The event organisers have taken significant steps to promote sustainability, and these efforts align with the Irish Government’s Climate Action Plan 2023 – Changing Ireland for the Better. Additionally, we are using Fáilte Ireland’s Climate Action Business Support Portal to aid in achieving the ambitious targets set for 2030.

Some of the vintage aircraft taking part are less noisy than the high-speed jets. Our advice is to come prepared as unfortunately, the roar of the jets is unavoidable, it is part and parcel of the Bray Air Display.

Some children wear ear protection, some do not. It is completely up to you.

Please note: The roar of the jets along with large crowds may make some spectators, who are sensitive to noise distressed and perhaps increase their fears. Parental guidance is always advised. 

If you have any pets sensitive to loud noise then please think twice before bringing them to the event.

Some of the vintage aircraft taking part are less noisy than the high speed aircraft but the roar of the jets is unavoidable, it is part and parcel of the Bray Air Display. This may make your pet distressed and perhaps increase their fears so it maybe best to leave them at home.

Guide dogs are very welcome at #BrayAirDisplay but please take note of the above.

A local carer will have access to clients in the restriction zone. Please bring proof of identity and carer employee ID.

Accessibility at the #BrayAirDisplay

Yes, there is parking for disabled persons at all #BrayAirDisplay car parks.

Please note that the standard fee for parking applies to disabled parking and the Blue Badge scheme / European Parking Card does not apply.

MOTORISTS ARE ADVISED THAT YOU MUST PRE-BOOK YOUR CAR PARK SPACE IN ONE OF THE OFFICIAL EVENT CAR PARKS ONLINE PRIOR TO ATTENDING THE AIRSHOW.

South Event Car Park – This car park is for traffic approaching from the South via N11 – Wicklow/Wexford direction

A complimentary shuttle bus will service South Event Car Park ONLY and will start at 10 am. Drop-off / Pick up point is close to the event site. The last pick-up from the event site is at 7:30 pm sharp.

The shuttle bus operator will provide safe, accessible and friendly access to all its passengers, regardless of their mobility difficulties, age or disabilities. 

North Event Car Park – This car park is for traffic approaching from Co. Dublin/North Leinster via M50 or N11

Spectators will have direct access to the event from these car parks via Bray Harbour. The event site is along Bray Seafront which is only a short distance away.

We would also advise people travelling by car to arrive early and expect delays before and after the event.

Yes, there is a drop-off point for disabled persons at the #BrayAirDisplay. This is located on Adelaide Road, Bray. You must have a valid European Parking Card prominently displayed in a visible position to access this road and drop off.

Yes, a number of limited spaces will be available in Raheen car park for a person who is unable to leave their car due to disability, which needs to be reserved by emailing [email protected] by Friday, July 5th, 2024. On application, you must supply your valid European Parking Card.

Yes, the #BrayAirDisplay takes place on a 1km long relatively flat outdoor event site which is wheelchair accessible with all the action taking place at 500ft giving everyone an excellent vantage point. A selection of the funfair rides are also accessible where funfair staff will be on hand to assist.

Please note: There are areas on the shoreline that are not wheelchair accessible.

Yes, specific unisex wheelchair accessible toilets will be available.

Yes, guide dogs are very welcome at #BrayAirDisplay.

As you are aware pets are sensitive to loud noise. Please note: the high speed jets performing at the Bray Air Display make a considerable amount of noise.
