Traffic Management Plan

Working in conjunction with An Garda Síochána, Wicklow County Council and respective statutory bodies we will implement a comprehensive traffic management plan to get #BrayAirDisplay visitors in and out of the town as quickly as possible.

 

Pursuant to the provisions of Section 75 of the Roads Act, 1993 and Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that it is proposed to temporarily close and restrict traffic throughout Bray as listed below on Saturday, July 23rd and Sunday, July 24th 2022.

Road Closures; Albert Avenue, Sidmonton Avenue, Convent Avenue, Meath Road, Seapoint Road, Quinsborough Road, Florence Road, Novara Avenue (from Bray Institute Of Further Education (BIFE)), Vevay Road (Southern Cross side) to Putland Road, Newcourt Road and Lower Dargle Road No restrictions 9:00 am
No Parking Permitted, Access or Vehicle Movement on Strand Road. Mitigation barriers will be in place for the duration of the event. From 12 midnight All-day

South Car park open – A complimentary shuttle bus will service this car park ONLY. Drop-off / pick up point is close to the event site. Last pick-up from event site is 7:30 pm sharp. Not open 10:00 am

The road closures are in place to facilitate residents, safe pedestrian flow, public transport and emergency access for the Bray Air Display. On roads with traffic restrictions, local access will be facilitated where possible.

 

There will be no parking permitted or no vehicle access (including residents and businesses) to the event site at Strand Road on Sunday, July 24th 2022 (from 12 midnight on Saturday, July 23rd 2022). Mitigation barriers will be in place for the duration of the event. You are not permitted to leave your car parked overnight. Cars will be towed.

 

Update as of July 6th 2022 – Deliveries to businesses along Strand Road and adjoining roads will have to be completed prior to 10 am on Sunday, July 24th, 2022.

All spectators attending the event by vehicle are advised to allow time for traffic delays.

 

MOTORISTS SHOULD BE AWARE THAT ILLEGALLY PARKED VEHICLES CAUSE TRAFFIC DISRUPTION AND OBSTRUCTION TO MOVEMENT OF EMERGENCY VEHICLES. THERE WILL BE STRICT ENFORCEMENT OF ALL ILLEGAL PARKING IN THE AREA BY GARDAI AND SUCH VEHICLES WILL BE IMPOUNDED OR CLAMPED AND WILL BE LIABLE TO A SUBSTANTIAL FINE.

 

SO PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PARK ILLEGALLY – IN RESTRICTED AREAS, LOCAL ESTATES OR OUTSIDE LOCAL RESIDENCES. 

 

YOU ARE NOT PERMITTED TO LEAVE YOUR CAR PARKED OVERNIGHT. CARS WILL BE TOWED.

 

Local Residents Access to Road Closures

 

Every effort will be made to discourage illegal parking in residential estates and on side streets. Barriers, signage, street cones and event-dedicated towing service will be in operation. In order to help us with these efforts, An Garda Síochána & Stewards will be accepting the following for local access:

 

  1. Driving Licence with householder’s address displayed

 

On roads with traffic restrictions, local access will be facilitated where possible.

 

Road closures and traffic restrictions will be managed by An Garda Sochána.

 

From 12 midnight on Saturday, July 23rd 2022

There will be road closures in place from early and the following roads will be closed:

 

  • Strand Road
  • Albert Avenue
  • Sidmonton Avenue
  • Convent Avenue
  • Meath Road
  • Seapoint Road

  • Florence Road
  • Novara Avenue (from Bray Institute Of Further Education (BIFE))
  • Vevay Road (Southern Cross side) to Putland Road
  • Newcourt Road
  • Lower Dargle Road

 

There will be restrictions on other roads in the area also.

Proposed Diversion Route

Southbound traffic on Main Street Bray shall be diverted via Killarney Road. Southbound traffic on Vevay Road will be diverted via Killarney Road or via O’Byrne Road to Boghall Road and Killarney Road.
